Thank you for visiting our website and finding out about the work of SDW. You can use our website without having to disclose your identity to us. However, personal data is collected when you use our website. The protection of your personal data when visiting our website is important to us, which is why we inform you below about which personal data we collect and process, for what purposes and to what extent. In our data protection declaration, we explain what personal data is collected when you visit our website and for what purposes it is used. We hereby assure you and undertake to treat your data confidentially and in accordance with the applicable EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and to protect your privacy.
The responsible body within the meaning of the data protection laws, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), is:
Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Bundesverband e.V.
Personal data are all individual details about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable person. Information for which we cannot (or can only with disproportionate effort) establish a connection to your person is not personal data.
We reserve the right to adapt this data protection declaration so that it always complies with the current legal requirements or in order to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection statement will then apply to your next visit. Therefore, we would like to recommend that you read this data protection declaration again each time you visit our website.
We process your personal data only for the purposes stated in this privacy policy. Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those stated. Commercial use of your data is excluded. We will only pass on your personal data to third parties if:
We would like to point out that for organisational reasons we exchange personal data within the entire SDW, i.e. the national association and the regional associations, in the case of memberships, event registrations, participation in projects and other activities.
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as stipulated by the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose has ceased to exist or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.
On our website, we use a technically necessary cookie that does not store any user data, but is necessary for the project map we use and is deleted when the browser session ends.
When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected by means of a cookie. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person.
This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver website content requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. In particular, it is processed for the following purposes:
The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest from the aforementioned data collection purposes. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person. Recipients of the data are only the responsible body and, if applicable, order processors.
Anonymous information of this kind may be statistically analysed by us in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.
For the provision of chargeable services, we request additional data, such as payment details, in order to be able to execute your order. We store this data in our systems until the statutory retention periods have expired.
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption procedures (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter.
We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to ensure that the newsletter is sent with your consent. In the course of this, the potential recipient allows himself to be added to a distribution list. Subsequently, the user is given the opportunity to confirm the registration in a legally secure manner by means of a confirmation e-mail. Only if the confirmation is received will the address be actively included in the distribution list.
We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and offers.
Newsletter2Go is used as the newsletter software. Your data will be transmitted to Newsletter2Go GmbH. Newsletter2Go is prohibited from selling your data and using it for purposes other than sending newsletters. Newsletter2Go is a German, certified provider, which was selected according to the requirements of the German Data Protection Regulation and the German Federal Data Protection Act.
You can find more information here: https://www.newsletter2go.de/informationen-newsletter-empfaenger/.
You can revoke your consent to the storage of data, the e-mail address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.
The data protection measures are always subject to technical updates, for this reason we ask you to inform yourself about our data protection measures at regular intervals by consulting our data protection declaration.
If you contact us by e-mail or contact form regarding questions of any kind, you give us your voluntary consent for the purpose of contacting you. For this purpose, you are required to provide a valid e-mail address, your first and last name and your message to us. This information is used for the assignment of the enquiry and the subsequent response to it. The provision of further data is optional. The information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and for possible follow-up questions. Personal data will be automatically deleted after your enquiry has been dealt with.
If you contact us by e-mail or donation form for the purpose of making a donation, you give us your voluntary consent to use your account data for this purpose. This requires the provision of a valid e-mail address, account data and address data. This serves the processing of the donation and the subsequent bank collection. The information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and for possible follow-up questions. After completion of the donation initiated by you and after expiry of the corresponding retention period, the personal data will be deleted.
You can register for conferences, events and projects on our website or flyers. In order to process your registration, we collect and process the following data: Salutation, first name, last name, institution, function, email address, postal address and your telephone number. Depending on the event, we may collect additional data. When you register, we will inform you which fields are mandatory and which are optional and refer you to this data protection declaration.
In order to register, you must accept our privacy policy. After your registration, we collect the data in the content management system of our website and export the data from the website to our database for further processing. We use your data for the preparation and implementation of the event: name badges, lists of participants (name, institution, e-mail address), dispatch of materials (conference documentation).
In addition, we use some of the data (name, institution, email address, postal address) to send information (e.g. event information, invitations to projects). You have the possibility to object to the use of your data in this way. Write an email to info(at)sdw.de.
Cancellation of binding registration for events such as conferences and training courses must be made in writing and is only then effective. Cancellation free of charge is possible if received up to 14 days before the start of the event. In the event of cancellations after this date (e.g. due to illness or business or personal commitments) up to six days before the start of the event, 50 percent of the participation fee will be charged as cancellation costs. Such a cancellation is also only effective if it is received in writing. In the case of later cancellations and no-shows, there is no entitlement to a refund of participation fees already paid or the full cost contribution must be paid.
We would like to point out that photos and videos are taken during our events, tree plantings, campaigns and other activities. We use this material for further documentation as well as promotion of our SDW actions in our print publications and online presences (website, social media, PDFs etc.). You will always be informed by us in advance of an event, action or similar about planned photo and video recordings and asked for your consent in writing in advance.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc (hereafter: Google). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymisation on these websites, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
The purposes of the data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities on the website. Other related services are then to be provided based on the use of the website and the internet. The processing is based on the legitimate interest of the website operator.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. In addition, you can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: Browser Add On to deactivate Google Analytics.
In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our pages by clicking on this link. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent the collection by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser in the future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
This website uses Google Maps API to visually display geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about visitors' use of the map functions. You can find more information about data processing by Google in the Google privacy policy. There you can also change your personal data protection settings in the data protection centre.
Detailed instructions on managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.
On our website, we make use of so-called iframes, with which we embed content from other websites on our website, e.g. videos from YouTube or Vimeo or maps from Google Maps. We have no influence on the data processing of these external websites of other providers and cannot assume any responsibility for them. The responsibility lies exclusively with the respective operators of these external websites.
We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells Youtube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your Youtube account first.
If a Youtube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour.
If you have deactivated the saving of cookies for the Google Ad programme, you will not have to expect any such cookies when watching Youtube videos. However, Youtube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.
You can find more information on data protection at YouTube in the provider's data protection declaration at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
Social plugins from the social networks Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn are used on our websites. Facebook and Instagram are operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd. 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour Dublin 2 Ireland. Google Ireland Limited Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland is responsible for YouTube. LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company ("LinkedIn Ireland") becomes the controller of your personal data within LinkedIn in designated countries, which includes Germany as a member of the European Union (EU). You can recognise the social plugins by the fact that they are marked with the corresponding logo of the social network.
Information, which may also include personal data, may be sent to the service provider via these plugins and may be used by the service provider. We prevent the unconscious and unintentional collection and transmission of data to the service provider through a 2-click solution. To activate a desired social plugin, it must first be activated by clicking on the corresponding button. Only this activation of the plugin also triggers the collection of information and its transmission to the service provider. We ourselves do not collect any personal data by means of the social plugins or about their use.
We have no influence on what data an activated plugin collects and how it is used by the provider. At present, it must be assumed that a direct connection to the provider's services is established and that at least the IP address and device-related information is collected and used. There is also the possibility that the service providers try to save cookies on the computer used. Please refer to the data protection information of the respective service provider to find out which specific data is collected and how it is used. Note: If you are logged into Facebook at the same time, Facebook can identify you as a visitor to a particular page.
For precise details on the purpose and scope of data processing, collection and use by the social networks Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Instagram, as well as your rights and settings options in this regard, please refer to the respective data protection notices:
On our website you will find hyperlinks to external websites to which we link on the basis of further content supplements and source information. If you click on these external links and follow them, you will be redirected from our website directly to the external website of another provider. You will recognise this by the changing URL, among other things. We cannot accept any responsibility or liability for the data protection of these external websites of other providers or the confidential handling of your personal data by these providers, as we have no influence on these pages and contents.
